Newfoundland to Take the Brunt of Chris

Chris will head out to the Northeast and impact Newfoundland Thursday night into Friday morning. While Chris will become a hurricane for a time, it will be downgraded to a tropical storm when passing through Newfoundland.

St. Johns will have winds gusts to 50 mph (80 kph) and heavy rains during the passage of  Chris. Most of Newfoundland will see heavy rains and high winds. There will most likely be damage form Chris in the form of trees being blown down and perhaps roof damage to some homes.

Chris will be a fast moving storm, lasting about 12 hours with about 3 hours of high winds.
