A Line of Storms with Strong Winds SE Virginia in NE North Carolina

Very warm and humid weather will sneak into southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina this afternoon providing the fuel for a squall line to develop with strong wind gusts. The storms may produce wind gusts 40-60 mph when they move through.

model3As you can seen, the low level jet at 5000 feet has very strong winds for the storms to tap  and bring down to the surface.
