Flooding and Heavy Storms Tennessee Valley to the Carolina’s

A cold front coming through the Tennessee Valley into the Carolina’s will produce heavy rains across the Tennessee Valley tonight into Wednesday morning followed by heavy thunderstorms across the Carolina’s Wednesday. The rains will produce flooding again across the Tennessee Valley tonight, especially in areas that were hit by flooding this weekend. The storms in the Carolina’s will be mainly gust winds and hail producers but a brief tornado can not be ruled out as the front moves through. A line of storms that follows the heavy rains in the Tennessee Valley could produce strong wind gusts as it moves through parts of Tennessee Thursday morning. Good news, several days of dry weather will come into the soggy areas.

Flooding Rains May Return to the Tennessee Valley

After having very heavy rains and flooding this weekend, the Tennessee Valley could be hit again with another round of heavy rains Wednesday. Heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front and with the storms training over the same area again, this could lead to locally 1-4 inches of rain. Areas of central Tennessee had record one day totals of rainfall that lead to flooding, especially around the Nashville area. The rainfall of 1-4 inches will only aggravate the flooding situation.
