First Spring Tornado Outbreak This Weekend

A major trough and storm coming out of the southern Rockies this weekend may produce the first major severe weather outbreak including tornadoes this weekend. We will see storms develop along the warm front Friday afternoon from Kansas into Missouri then as the upper level low moves into Texas, a band of severe storms will develop that may produce tornadoes. Dew points will be in the 60s so there will be ample moisture available. The jet aloft will be strong, over 100 kts. So all the ingredients are coming together for a significant outbreak. Just have to see how the cloud cover plays in the aspect of heating. Once the storms develop they will move into the lower Mississippi Valley and Tennessee Valley Sunday.
