Another outbreak of severe weather and possible tornadoes will occur late Wednesday through Thursday night. This time compared to the last event are the strengths of the jets at 250 mb and at 850 mb. We have a stronger low level jet and a stronger jet at 250 mb which will have to create stronger rotation and upward motion. The dew points will be higher this time as well with dew points nearing 70 degrees which is ample fuel for thunderstorms. The only issue will be cloud cover and the amount of heating that will occur. Sometimes when the parameters are so strong the atmosphere gets cloudy with showers breaking out quickly in the day limiting instability. In any case, we could be looking at over 25 tornadoes, some large and damaging again.
