Heavy snow will fall across parts of the Northeast today. The higher locations will see the most snow with over 8 inches in some locations. Snow rates will be 1-2 inches per hour with perhaps some thundersnows mixed in. The storm will intensify today with winds picking up over eastern New England and Cape Cod. Winds may gust 40-60 mph with heavy rains. This is an impressive storm which is part of the blocking pattern that has developed.
