Daily Madness: Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Top Story

The cold weather will last another day or so across the Northeast and Great Lakes. We should see warmer weather this weekend and next week. Yea!

The big story will be the severe weather Friday into Saturday. Severe storms are predicted to develop across eastern Texas, Oklahoma into Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Tornadoes will be confined to two areas. One area across southern Oklahoma and the other across northern Louisiana. Both areas seem to have the best shear for tornado development. Overall, the impacts with the event will be damaging winds, hail and flash flooding rains. Parts of the South may see over 5 inches of rain and damaging flooding.

The storm that brings the severe storms will intensify off Sunday. Expect gales and heavy rains to develop across New England and Maine. Snow will be confined to Quebec.

Speaking of snow, we may see some snow across the Northern Plains Sunday into Monday.

Storm coming into the Plains Tuesday will spark another round of severe storms and possible tornadoes Tuesday into Wednesday. The South could be hit hard again Wednesday.
