A major severe weather outbreak will develop Friday afternoon and last into Saturday evening, impacting areas from Texas to South Carolina. There will be two areas of the region that will see the potential for tornadoes. The first will be across southern Oklahoma and the other across northern Louisiana into central Mississippi. Both areas will see storms developing along the warm front where the shear will focus for the potential for supercell storms that can produce tornadoes activity. In addition, damaging winds and hail will occur with the storms.

The other factor will be the heavy rains and flash flooding potential. Rainfall over a short period of time due to training of thunderstorms could reach 6 inches in some areas which will result in flash flooding. The map below shows the area of concern for flash flooding.
