An upper level low moving across the Appalachians will produce two bands of heavy thunderstorms this afternoon. One band will be across the eastern Ohio Valley while the other band will impact the Mid-Atlantic. In both areas, the storms may produce small hail and winds gusting over 40 mph. We saw a band of heavy storms moving across the Tennessee Valley yesterday which did produce many reports of strong winds. We may see the same thing today.
