Severe Weather in the Form of a Nocturnal MCS!

The low level jet will strengthen Wednesday evening and force hot air across the warm front sitting over the Great Lakes. The result will be a Mesoscale Convective System or MCS that will develop and more southeast. These types of system can produce damaging winds, heavy rains, frequent lightning and hail.

I expect the MCS to move across Wisconsin and Michigan and may continue through Ohio and West Virginia ending up in Virginia Thursday afternoon. Wind damage could continue all the way to Virginia with the system.
