The Derecho Remains will Activate this Afternoon to Produce More Storms

Another round of severe storms will develop out of the remains of last nights Derecho system that hit the western Great Lakes. You can see the swath of wind damage associated with the Derecho.

The storms will hit two areas, one in the Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic and the other in the central Mississippi Valley. The impacts from the storms within the area shown on the map will be mainly damaging winds and hail. A tornado threat will exist across parts of Illinois and Missouri.
