Two cold fronts will be the focal point for the potential of severe storms today and Sunday. The first area of severe storms will be across the mid-Mississippi Valley where the remains of this morning storms will regenerate into a line of storms with wind damage and hail.
The area for Sunday is complicated by the old front across the mid-Atlantic states and the next cold front coming in from Ontario to the Northeast. Both areas as you can see on the simulated radar below will have the potential for damaging winds and hail. If a tornado threat exists, it will be across southeast Virginia and eastern North Carolina. The dew points to the north with the cold front coming in from Ontario will be in the 50s and will support more wind damage and hail.
