The severe weather yesterday wasn’t very impressive due to the late development of the storms. The squall line that developed from the storms is now moving across Texas and will move across the South today, impacting areas from eastern Texas to Louisiana. That same squall line will roll across the South tonight and impact the Southeast into Florida Thursday. The impacts with the storms will be mainly damaging wind gusts and intense downpours.
Friday that same line will move into the Mid-Atlantic and will produce heavy rains and gusty winds. If the storms can become more intense, there is a chance for a few tornadoes across Virginia do the highly sheared atmosphere. Rainfall will be 1-4 inches and may cause flash flooding.
