Updated: Massive Severe Weather Outbreak May Lead to Numerous Tornadoes Severe Weather Pro Top Story Weather Madness Pro Discussions by Weather Madness Mar 21, 2022 0 Comment TUESDAY MORNING – Updated the map to cut out Texas after a rough night of over 22 tornadoes that hit. Today will be another nasty day for severe storms as the squall line continues to move across the South. Storms that develop ahead of the squall line may produce tornadoes in Louisiana and Mississippi. A strong storm coming out of the Rockies will produce severe weather today through Wednesday. This will be a multi-day severe weather outbreak with the potential for strong tornadoes that can cause significant damage. The HRRR model rotation tracks show an unbelievable number of rotation tracks which can also mean large hail as well as tornadoes. The trough at 500 mb is very large and the 850 mb winds will be up to 90 kts. This is going to result in strong shear across eastern Texas into Louisiana and Mississippi where long-tacked tornadoes are possible. Gusty thunderstorms will extend into the Ohio Valley and upper Mississippi Valley too. This is the time to have a family plan in case of tornado warnings are issued for your area.
