Round two of the of severe storms will hit the Southeast this afternoon and evening. Yesterday, over 50 tornadoes hit the Southeast and today, we may see another 20-30 tornadoes across Southern Georgia into southern South Carolina. The storms will develop this afternoon ahead of the cold front that will be coming across the Tennessee Valley. I expect many of the storms will produce large hail and strong wind gusts as well as a tornado. The storms could impact Atlanta, Columbia and Charleston.

The storms will develop north across eastern North Carolina into New England Thursday. The storms in that area will produce strong wind gusts and heavy downpours. We may even see some strong storms into Baltimore and Washington Thursday.
