Weekly Highlights – Severe Weather in the South, Possible Snowstorm Great Lakes into the Northeast

The pattern overall will be warmer compared to the weekend. Severe storms will develop into Texas today and move into the Southeast and Florida Tuesday. A few tornadoes are possible. Main impacts will be damaging wind gusts and large hail.

Snow will come down the Front Range of the Rockies Wednesday night and Thursday. Probably a 1-4 inch amount of snow coming down the range.

The snowstorm for the Friday into Saturday time period is being handled poorly by the models. GFS has the snow in the Midwest while the ECMWF has the snow in the eastern Ohio Valley and Northeast. Leaning more toward the GFS solution for the snow.

The Northwest will be get active again with rain along the coast and snow over the mountains. Snow should get into the Sierra’s as well.

Severe Storms in Eastern Texas and the Gulf Coast Monday

An upper level low will cut across Texas Monday. That upper low will produce severe storms across eastern Texas into the Gulf coast. The storms will develop in the afternoon and produce damaging winds, large hail and a couple of tornadoes. You can see on the rotation tracks below where the best chance of tornadoes may occur.
