Flooding Rains May Return to the Tennessee Valley

After having very heavy rains and flooding this weekend, the Tennessee Valley could be hit again with another round of heavy rains Wednesday. Heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front and with the storms training over the same area again, this could lead to locally 1-4 inches of rain. Areas of central Tennessee had record one day totals of rainfall that lead to flooding, especially around the Nashville area. The rainfall of 1-4 inches will only aggravate the flooding situation.

Thunderstorms with Damaging Winds Sunday

After the severe weather event in the Tennessee Valley and Mississippi Valley Saturday the line of storms will continue to move east and impact the Mid-Atlantic and Carolina’s Sunday. The storms will most likely remain a solid line that will move through these areas with a burst of damaging wind gusts to 65 mph and moderate size hail. Heavy rains will occur as well. A quick spin-up tornado could occur along the line of storms. Below is the area of concern for Saturday.
