Henry I have a question… on your extended forecast for January 11 you said 1-3 inches of snow with possible blizzard… I can’t imagine 1-3 inches of snowfall to close down the I95 corridor… just saying…thanks

I’m 70 years old and many many years ago my grandfather would always say about the weather…We don’t control it…it will be what it will be…he was wise beyond his years…think I’m going to start doing that…

Weather that I absolutely hate…

First lawn mowing in the books…think that’s the earliest…ever…but the weather has been fine…

A rainbow 🌈 before the snow…ya gotta love the weather…

The nice thing about Fridays storm of 7”+ the sidewalks and blacktop surfaces had warmed up over the past few weeks…Saturday at noon 90% of those surfaces the snow had melted and by 3 PM they were dry…saved me from aching back and muscles…bring on the next snow storm…lol

8″ for SW PA….I’ll take it…now to get my grandson up to shovel it for me…lol

30 degrees and upward of 4″ …ya gotta love weather…

Well I’d say this storm was a major overachiever…in Connellsville PA, we had at least 6″ yesterday and from 5:00 yesterday afternoon till 10:00 last night we picked up a healthy 5″…and my brother who lives in Mill Run,PA…sent me this picture…he measured 11″…all from the streamers off of Lake Erie…ya got to love the weather…

Well a lot of the schools in Pittsburgh and most if not all schools in SW PA have cancelled…this may be a bigger storm than the local forecast are calling for…most are calling for 5-7 inches…all take 10-12 for 100…lol

2-3 inches of fluffy snow…temps are chilly @ 17 degree…

Well 1st time I recall seeing a rainbow after Christmas…lol

Once again a chilly night…26 degrees and the clouds are beginning to thicken slightly…still I think the low temperatures for December have been below average is what my bones are feeling…lol

Low temperature of 19 overnight here in SW PA…must have been a temperature inversion over night…milky sky and was a washout for the meteor shower…😠

The hefty snow shower…

Well as I peer through my window…a pretty hefty snow shower…From Connellsville PA…

Henry just wanted to mention that a EF2 tornado touched down in Mill Run in Fayette County on Friday morning at approximately 2:30 AM….house trailer was airborne with a mother and I believe 4 children…no fatalities but all were in Pittsburgh hospitals on Friday….at one point nearly 11,000 power outages…major tree damage….

Below-average sea surface temperatures (SSTs) continued across the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean during September [Fig. 1]. Most of the Niño indices decreased during the past month, with the latest weekly index values spanning -0.8°C to -1.6°C [Fig. 2]. For the last couple of months, negative subsurface temperature anomalies remained mostly unchanged [Fig. 3], reflecting the persistence of below-average temperatures across the eastern Pacific Ocean [Fig. 4]. Low-level easterly wind anomalies and upper-level westerly wind anomalies prevailed across most of the equatorial Pacific. Convection was suppressed over the western and central tropical Pacific and was enhanced over Indonesia [Fig. 5]. Overall, the coupled ocean-atmosphere system continued to reflect La Niña.
