Actual weather madness out there! I measured 18” here in Westchester County but hard to truly tell bc blowing snow. My windows are covered and the wind is howling.

Got the appetizer here in NY a little under 1” of snow this morning. 32° We still have big banks of snow and about 8-10” leftover on yards from the last big storm.

My local Trader Joe’s was a combat zone this morning. Guess word got out!

Up on my hill in NY I believe we got around 20” of snow. One of the highest in the county. Mountains of snow along the roads.

Los Niños!

Got a nice snow squall blow through NY around 5:30pm with a good coating of snow. Local app didn’t issue a weather warning until a couple hours beforehand but I knew to expect something 🙂 No thunder snow here though!

Are the models always this unreliable when there is a transition between la niña / el niño? Or is there something else going on?

People are now ice fishing here in NY. Not sure I like living somewhere where it’s cold enough for ice fishing. Ready for spring over here!

Westport, CT coast looking south at the Long Island sound. Big waves around 2:30pm and high tide coming up around 4pm so flooding looks likely. Some businesses had barriers up.

Very windy in NY north of nyc today. 30 mph gusts. No warning from weather service at all. My patio is a mess.

Around 3pm the snow started sticking to the roads in NY north of NYC. About 1” by 4pm.

What is the Euro saying for sat storm?

The snow in NY did start out as dry, beautiful “pixie dust” almost smoke-like. But our towns obviously don’t watch Henry’s videos saying we would get snow because then they would have salted the roads. Accidents out there now.

Snow coming down In Westchester, NY and the weather apps never said anything about any snow and I just had a white knuckle drive through roads that weren’t salted and very slippery. Treacherous conditions out there with almost 1” and weather apps still say .01” lol the gfs is awful
