Bernie Rayno says we have about a 15% chance of all the ingredients coming together to make a blockbuster storm this weekend…that’s about where I’m at for now as well. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen but chances are slim… IMO

Wish casting now for 2 years. After 15thMJO goes phase 6 and as Bastardi says and I agree this time. Warm last 1/2 Jan will happen. Then sun starts win cold battle. Another dry snow less winter for snow hole S central PA. WV, and Va. Clippers did good job feeding Pittsburgh. At least they got out snow hole in December.

35 and rain here, the forecast for sleet and freezing rain was a bust, never dropped below 32.5 and quickly came up a little but that’s fine, don’t need the ice, Forecasts here are for wintery mixes thru Wednesday off and on but temps in the upper 30’s to near 40. I smell rain coming but we shall see.

Forecast high for Pittsburgh today is 80. Here it is 57 for a high. that’s a pretty big difference in 60 miles

A lovely half inch of rain since midnight. I’m guessing the local firefighters are breathing a sigh of relief. There has been a lot of wildfires in this area since the real windy afternoon on Wednesday. This weather report is from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

March has arrived. A flock of Canada geese landed this morning in the open field behind our house. Robins returned last week. I moved the snow blower (UNUSED) to the back of the garage and the lawn mower to the front. Now, surely, the March Blizzard of 23 will come!
