Welp! El nino was nice while it lasted….SOI trending back up again…

I am absolutely loving the SOI values, bring on a mild damp summer for a change on the eastern seaboard it would be great for fire pits in the evening and cooking out on the griddle and grill without cooking yourself in the sun…

Yeah whole power outage thing…that’s the ugly side of winter storms and blizzards, I’ll pass on that, Will probably get one of those Generac whole home generators installed this spring if these type of storms are going to be on the table going forward

South Central PA, all of our snow came at one time at about 2 inches per hour from like 8pm to 5am this morning we have about 13″ and now there is a massive iceberg at the foot of my driveaway because they plowed our street already…smh,

Said earlier this storm had NJ , New York-Astan and points northward name all over it. The left over snow was for south Central PA

That guy in New York-Astan just shut down the entire city

South Central PA rain…I think this is a bust for south Centra l PA and most of MD. This storm has Jersey and NY written all over it. Interior parts of the Mid-Atlantic will see mostly a wind driven light rain.

It would appear that the NAM model was more accurate on the timing of the snow when it would start falling

Blizzard of 2016 Frederick Maryland…the cat and dog were not there ..lol!!!

South central PA just got updated to a Winter Storm Warning, 12+ inches likely with snow fall rates 1+ inches per hour from 5am Sunday to 2pm Monday

What’s weird is that the NAM model shows it snowing from 9am Sunday morning in PA until 11pm . Monday night…and just 8 inches of snow in south Central PA

Winter storm watch just went up for my neck of the woods. I’m in the Susquehanna Valley.

The difference in the solutions on the models are very interesting. I think the GFS is too extreme and the Euro is not extreme enough. The truth about how this is going to play out is between the two. I don’t think it will be as far east as the GFS is depicting and the snow won’t be as light as the euro is depicting

Weather Channel taking the strong possiblity of a blizzard stance now

@weathermadness The GFS is the only model still holding onto this storm…Candian is backing off and the Euro deterministic has nothing…Will have to see of the other models change over the next few days or hours

But my question is why is the precip shield on this storm so tightly packed to the coast even with the storm hugging the coast so tight? Bernie Rayno says we have about a 15% chance of all the ingredients coming together to make a blockbuster storm this weekend…that’s about where I’m at for now as well. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen but chances are slim… IMO

Any weather forecast model past 48 hours should be ignored and that goes for all of the models and indices especially the kyle model that changes with every day.

Somebody is bout to get crushed with snow in the Mid-Atlantic!

For some reason the weekend storm looks more formidable on the Canadian 12z model then the GFS..and a bit further north then the GFS 12z

JB is saying a warm is coming, but all of euro products can’t be wrong in the 6-13 day forecast

And then there’s this…by March 1st…but again it is the 18z…lol!!!

I’m going what the GFS and CFS is saying…I think winter has delt is best blow for the Mid Atlantic, just cold rain from here on out for the most part with a few icy spots, but I think the snow show is basically over for the Mid Atlantic

The weekend storm will be a big nothing burger…probably won’t see anymore storms until late in the month or mid March…if then…personally I think we are done for the season…

I’m thinking…maybe the Valentine’s storm will come back?….not sure about this one at all

Welp! It would appear that all of the models have abandoned the Valentines day storm for next weekend…at least for now

Doubt if this will be on the maps on the 12z…we shall see

The SOI value is why the models are now running warm and the tele-connections are flipping warm now.

Watch how fast the indicies start to flip because of the SOI values and the models start showing less and less snow and more cold rain

I dont’ see any more BIG daddy storms on the way for now, just some clippers that may try to bomb out but other than that pretty quiet

I think it’s just going to just be cold and quiet weather wise once this so called over hyped storm passes through
