<title>We need a surprise on the upside for some rain! Coming back from upstate NY this afternoon and the northbound lane of Route 81 just north of Scranton was blocked by several fire trucks - brush fires. And the NY/NJ Border fire smoke/haze was really evident from Rt 80 yesterday.</title>

<title>Interesting take on the summer for the northeast.

By May, New Jersey residents will already be feeling above-average temperatures as a swath of heat settles across the Northeast and the northern third of the country, according to The Weather Channel&#039;s forecast.

In June and July, temperatures will remain above average as the heat shifts southward and blankets much of the Northern Plains, the Ohio Valley, and Northeast states.

As summer comes to a close, temperatures will remain above average in August, according to The Weather Channel.

This newest forecast is in line with a prediction released last month by the Farmers’ Almanac, which warned Garden State residents to expect sweltering and soggy conditions this summer.

In its summer 2024 weather forecast, the Farmers’ Almanac also said many Americans could experience the hottest temperatures in recorded history this summer. Wet weather is also in the forecast for many parts of the country.</title>
