Happy Weather Tuesday!
That old stalled front is finally just melting in the heat. We will probably see less thunderstorm activity along the old front today.
A weak cold front will be coming across the Northeast this afternoon. Expect a few thunderstorms from Maine into Upstate New York.
Another cold front will be coming across the Upper Midwest today and the Great Lakes tomorrow. A few severe storms will hit areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin today and then Michigan to Missouri tomorrow. In both cases, strong winds with the storms will be the main issue.
The heat will overwhelm areas from the Plains into the East the next 5 days. I expect to see near 100 degree weather in the I-95 corridor from Boston to Richmond during this period depending on the distribution of thunderstorms. The Plains will see highs in the 100s.
The monsoon storms in the West and Southwest will continue with the risk of flash flooding.
