October snow in the east is the kiss of death for a big eastern winter.
It does seem that way more often than not, doesn’t it. Of course, it would appear that the first batch of snow events are destined for the Plains and Rockies at this point, though there’s still hope for the east later in the October or November.

Yup. For those of us in the New England. The Halloween blizzard knocked out power and shut down everything for a week with power outages. Well anyway, that ended up pretty-much the only snow we had.

Well, they certainly need the precip out in the Midwest, with the Miss river being at record low levels once again. I read where it’s starting to be an issue for agribusiness as far as getting commodity exports to the ports in the Gulf and crop input imports such as fertilizer back up river to the farms.
I don’t think Henry showed this to mean there was snow coming to the east coast, but to show a pattern thats setting up for the El Niño winter.
