The actual recorded low last night here in NE Nassau Co., LI, was 6 degrees; the forecasted low was for 14 degrees. Maybe a bit of snow this Tuesday. That would be nice, before a forecasted slow warm-up.

As I suggested early this year and last year, the indices used to produce prediction ensembles may no longer be reliable due to, climate change. Still hoping for snow here on Long Island NY in spite of the forecast.

When it rains fairly consistently in December in northern NYS, little chance for winter to make a show with snow in most of NYS and southern New England any time soon, except for isolated lake effect snow events western NYS.
