A storm will quickly move across the northern Tier of the country Wednesday night into Thursday. That storm will produce a wintry mix across New York, Vermont, New Hampshire into eastern Ontario and southern Maine. Northern Maine and Quebec will see mainly snow with 1-4 inches of snow possible. The wintry mix will cause travel problems in the form of icy roads Thursday. Snow showers will follow the storm Friday into Saturday.
Prior to that storm, northern Maine and Quebec will see some snow Tuesday morning. A few inches of snow is possible.
Friday, storm cutting across the South could bring a surprise wet snow the West Virginia and south-central mountains. It’s a marginal event but if enough cold air comes down behind the storm Thursday, it could happen.
