Severe Supercell Storms Return to the High Plains

Henry Margusity, Chief Meteorologist

The dry line that will run from eastern Colorado to western Texas will ignite each afternoon with severe supercell thunderstorms today and tomorrow. The storms will be scattered up and down the dry line each day and will produce large hail, dusty strong winds and perhaps a couple of tornadoes. Dew points are running in the 50s and low 60s so the tornado activity could be limited by the lack of rich moisture. Large hail from the high-based storms could be the main impacts. Storms will continue into Sunday but could form more into central Kansas, Oklahoma and central Texas.
