Weekly Madness – Fred Hits the South, Snow in the Mountains, Severe Weather Plains

It’s going to be a busy week as Fred will hit the Florida Panhandle as a strong tropical storm perhaps with wind gusts to hurricane force Monday. Once inland, flash flooding and perhaps tornadoes across the Southeast.
Out ahead of Fred, the humidity will be going up in areas that had relief from the high humidity and heat last week. The Great Lakes to the Northeast will all see an increase in humidity along with scattered thunderstorms.
Snow will come down the Canadian Rockies into the Montana mountains. Some of the high elevations will see over 4 inches of snow.
Heat and severe storms will hit the Plains. The heat qwill have temperatures in the 100s most of the first half of the week before the cold front plows through with severe storms Thursday into Friday. We could see wind damage and tornadoes with the outbreak.
Monsoon storms will continue across the Southwest. Gusty winds, dust and flash flooding will occur with the storms.
