The New York City snow drought continues, at least for the borough of Queens. No snow on the ground as the storm pulls away. The pattern of the last several years – cold air in place, storm approaches and brings with it warmer air, it mostly rains, then cold returns, repeat – continues this winter. Has the jet stream just permanently shifted to the west of New York City, moving the storms directly over us here in the city, instead of directing them to the east which used to give us our snow storms?
