A couple of weeks ago I asked for someone to explain the bowling alley in central Ohio where major snowstorms always go into the gutters east, north, west, or south of us. No one offered any enlightenment.

However, i did dig up a video that did a great job of explaining the blizzards that hit the midwest and east from 1976-78, which allowed me to see what it takes for the bowling alley to get some play: A miracle.

youtube.com/watch?v=8lMcWD3EHqM. If you like blizzards, I think you’ll like the story.

    • Video brought back many memories. I was then living near Providence in 1978 and have my “I Survived” bumper sticker and Blizzard Book (published by the Providence Journal) to prove it!

    • Rhode Island 1978 – that’s a VW Bug that got stuck in the snow.

      • I was in Boston in 1978, attending the Beanpot ice hockey tournament. Made it home on the last train that made it out of Boston or I’d have been stuck in Boston garden for days
