Seems like a lot of people here like snow and cold. Many years ago my wife and I volunteered at the Mt. Washington Observatory. Volunteers cook for the observers for a week and do a few other chores as needed depending on their skill set. In exchange they get to spend a week with the observers at a place with some of the world’s most extreme weather. It’s not all work; plenty of time for hiking, observing, chatting with the observers and maybe hikers, park people, etc. In the winter the ride up and down is by snow cat. You need to go for a summer week before you are eligible for a winter week, as they can’t easily send you home in the winter! This program is still going: check it out!
