From Mt Washington: The start of meteorological winter has sure felt like it on the summit of Mt. Washington. So far, we have yet to average above normal for a single day, have had daily lows below 10 below on 8 days, and had daily departures of 15 degrees or more below average 7 times through December 15th! In fact, our average temperature of 1.5 F through December 15th is our 4th coldest ever start to December since 1935. However, it is still some distance behind the coldest ever start to December which was set in 1989, with an average temperature of -4.6F.
