I think we have to be careful looking at things 30 days out and trying to extrapolate models and charts to fit what we want to see. This year was a huge bust for the east coast. Could this be another year where the the La Nina blows everything across the country? The values are so high right now and if I remember last year and the one before that we spent a lot of time waiting for it to drop. Anyone have thoughts on that?
Storm of 93 Happy Anniversary!!!! I remember that thing like yesterday. Lived in Philadelphia at the time and I think we got 13 inches of sleet. It was amazing. Mother nature was just reminding us we have no control over her. I also recall the week before being warm and everybody thinking winter was over and spring had arrived. You really never know….
Winter is not over. it can be 30 degrees over normal today and 30 degrees under a week from now. You never know….
i wouldnt give up on winter yet. some of the biggest storms on the east coast have happened in March.
This may be anecdotal but it seems the NAO the last few years skews positive just at the start of meteorological winter and pretty much stays that way with small brief forays to the negative side. Is there a reason for that or is it just coincidence?
