Tropical Depression Fred will move north through Wednesday impacting areas from Georgia to Pennsylvania. The west side of Fred’s track will have heavy rains and flash flooding. Areas of western North Carolina will have serious flooding as 1-5 inches of rain falls quickly today into tonight.
Heavy rains and flooding will continue up the Appalachians into western PA into eastern New England and perhaps parts of New England. Any of these areas can have flash flooding due to the quick and heavy nature of the rains.
A tornado threat continues across eastern Georgia this morning. That threat of tornadoes will move into the Carolina’s today then Virginia tonight. The HRRR and NAM suggest that a tornado threat exists across south-central Pennsylvania into eastern Pennsylvania Wednesday.
Severe storms will certainly occur all the way to the I-95 corridor Wednesday.
