The storm the will form in the Mississippi Valley will come East Friday. The cold front associated with the storm will move into the Mid-Atlantic and could be the focal point for severe storms to develop along that can produce weak tornadoes. The forecast soundings that we typically use to understand the state of the Atmosphere shows winds turning with height and strong winds aloft which are an indicator that storms can rotation and produce tornadoes.

Along with the tornado potential will be damaging wind gusts and very heavy rains. Rainfall could be 1-4 inches across the region. Winds in general will be gusting 35-45 mph which may cause some power outages.
