On the discussion of Accuweather founders (Myers, Abrams, Bastardi,etc) I listened to KYW on the 7’s to hear them describe the weather rather than the rip and read announcers back in the early 70s (im 67 now). I didn’t know about Henry till the 1990s on Accuweather Pro columns. I learned so much between him and JB on their internet columns. My start was really with Elliot on KYW. He was honest and would explain the problems with the forecast. I talked to him recently and he is doing quite well. Met him once at Accuweather HQ thanks to Jesse (Sr. Met editor I think) when I met Bernie. TV changed the company. I still check in with them but they going/or corporate. That’s why I like Henry. He is honest, truthful and accessible.
I went to the same HS in Philly with Elliot. He was a class behind me. At lunch, I often discussed weather with another “weather nut” from my class, and recall someone else who often joined our conversations. He was very knowledgable back then, and I often wonder if it was Elliot. Also, Joel Meyers graduated from the same school. I cut my weather teeth watching Wally Kinnan on the local channel 3 TV outlet. There was also Dr Francis Davis on another channel, but he was never a snow lover like Wally. My interest in weather began in the 1960-61 winter (a blizzard trifecta season in Philly) when I was rooting for school snow days. Today, my go-to weather guy is Henry for the same reasons you mention. I also like and respect JB, but prefer Henry because he seems more focused on the weather and not side issues. The old guard at Accuweather were the “great ones,” and I hope that there are younger guys to fill their shoes.

Yes. yes. I was too young for Wally but I liked Dr. Francis Davis. Even interviewed with him at my application to Drexel. I didn’t go. My first WX storm I got in love with wx was the Dec 24th 66 storm. I saw 3x thundersnow events. I have seen 1 since. KPHL officially got 12.6 inches of snow. I was hooked.
