Walks and trees glazed and schools delayed as temperature holds below freezing in Hagerstown at 7:30 A.M.
One foot snow total! With the additional 0.1 inch of snow today, Hagerstown has now accumulated 12.0 inches for the season. And who says it never snows here?
Oakland MD reporting heavy snow with a temperature of 23 currently. This is opposite what NOAA had posted for their forecast. Obviously, the cold air is deeper than what the models were printing out.
Light to moderate snow at my house west of Hagerstown currently. Laying in the grass and on my walk and driveway. Temperature 29 with a dewpoint of 19.
CAD signature holding strong at Hagerstown as we head towards early afternoon. Temperature 30 and dewpoint 16.
I failed to mention with light snow just starting out her west of town.
Nice CAD set up with temperature holding at 28 and dewpoint at 17 with a N/NE wind that will not scour out the low level cold air anytime soon in Hagerstown.
WWA posted for Hagerstown. Official NOAA forecast says up to an inch of snow accumulating mainly in the grass today with temps’ mid- thirties. I look for NOAA to have a WWA posted for Hagerstown by tomorrow morning since model guidance is coming in colder and further north for tomorrow into Tuesday morning.

NOAA in their 3 PM afternoon up date says “the chances for a wintery precipitation event late Sunday night and Monday are increasing yet at the same time they dropped the % chance from 60 to 50% since the 12zs came out.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I see in your morning write up Henry that you make reference to a “Gulf of Mexico”. I thought that was changed to the “Gulf of America”? It is a changing landscape you know.

Whitetail has posted snow Monday with a high of 29. N0AA says snow Sunday night and Monday with a high of 31 and a low of 17. This could be one of our last chances for Hagerstown this winter. Almost every other forecast for the I-81 corridor has busted this far out.

Hard to believe the lack of snow there in recent years.
NOAA says, “because the models disperge about next Mon/Tues the chances of precipitation are low”. How’s that for sticking your neck out to make a forecast?
Meteorological spring is just around the corner and with it comes the end of any possibilities that snow will have any staying power on the ground south of the Mason Dixon Line.
The sun is melting it on roads and driveways and its nott even out.

A change over to snow has occurred at my place west of town at 7;50A.M. Whitetail 10 miles away has dropped back to freezing. This should be an interesting day and night coming up.
Oakland MD has switched over to heavy snow, and their temperature has dropped to 28.
