• Oakland Md. currently 37 with a gusty wind making it feel like 26. Welcome to spring. Perhaps May will be better.

    • 42 here in NNJ Windy. 25 mph+

    • Normal to slightly above temperatures will be back in a day or so, or at least it should be. April can be a volatile month, especially in an active pattern such as we’re in now.

  • We will be having our first warm rain event coming up later this week for Hagerstown since late last fall. Warm in the sense it should be mostly in the 60s and 70s the whole time. Should really make the flowers and trees burst forward and grow and thicken the grass.

  • Talk about a difference of opinion, NWS has sunny and temperatures in the 50s and 60s east of the mountains for Friday and Saturday while the Canadian has a snowstorm moving up the coast in the same time period including for Baltimore and D.C. This must be a joke.

  • Hagerstown with no snow in sight this week will end March with 0.3 of an inch and 15.9 inches spread out over 4-5 winter events the last 4-5 months. Last season we had 2 inches total and the winter before 7 inches total. Winter weather has essentially evaporated in the last 7-10 years south of the Mason Dixon Line.

    • Yeah if you want snow you either have to move out west or further north. But the Mid-Atlantic snow days are behind us now. Those days of big nor easters are over

  • Oakland MD currently 16 degrees hoping for a high in the mid 30s today.

    • I’d feel better about it if the ECMWF also had a similar solution, but it has a weaker system.

    • Yeah it’s not happening the snow for the east coast…Mid Atlantic is done

    • lol not happening. Give up the hype train the GFS puts out. It’s been wrong all winter.

      • All of the forecast tools have been wrong all winter…with AI introduced into the models, weather watching has become less fun IMO, it seems nobody really knows what the weather is going to do honestly…at this one persons guess is as good as any

  • Most of the models are showing snow for the Mid-Atlantic region west of the big cities the next two weekends. Too far out to get excited about besides it would be totally melted a couple of days later.

  • Storm on 19-20 now back on GFS 12Z radar and showing a northward trend. Hagerstown now back in the loop for snow. If phasing occurs causing a deepening trough on the east coast, it could be a big storm for the Mid-Atlantic north.

    • It certainly shows promise at this point, especially since multiple models have some kind of system in that period, give or take a day. Though, impacts vary quite a bit, so too early to say how it will play out in the end.

    • Yeah hoping the blocking shows up in time so I can deepen and actually produce snow and not cold rain

  • Hagerstown officially 0.3 inches of snow yesterday bringing our grand total to 15.9 inches from November up until today. Nothing expected this week as April preview arrives.

    • I’ve been looking at your temps on WeatherBug past couple of days. Area from Frostburg to Oakland seems to in a climate zone of its own – colder than areas north in PA and New York state. Is it the elevation?
