76° in Winston-Salem, back into the 90s again today. Unfortunately, the AC isn’t working- hoping I’m on the early end of the repair schedule!
81° and steaming into the 90s today I. Winston-Salem. Most of the big storms have been sliding by to our south over the last several days. We’re in the summer doldrums.
72° and wet in Winston-Salem. Flash flooding after nearly a foot of rain in counties just north of us along the Virginia border with a number of water rescues overnight.
Oh wow! that’s a ton of rain! It’s like feast or famine this year.
A delightful 61° to start the day in Winston-Salem. Although drought conditions are easing, half of our county is without water due to a major water main break. If it’s not one thing, it’s two others.
71° again this morning- the storms yesterday split and went south and east of Winston-Salem. We had some light rain in the morning, but that was it.
71° in Winston-Salem as we await the arrival of storms today. Hopefully we won’t lose power again!
66° and rainy in Winston-Salem this morning. The rain has helped with the drought conditions in NC, although there’s still lots of room for improvement. I love having a rainy day!
79° in the early morning in Pawleys Island, SC. Up early to pack; heading back to Winston-Salem where it’s currently sweater weather. Looking forward to opening up the house to cool breezes. Although some areas of the Piemonte got up to 7+ inches of rain, looks like Winston averaged 1- 1 1/2 inches from the storms.
86° with a line of coastal showers threatening the sunbathers at Pawleys Island, SC. We’ve had several surprise pop up showers over the last few days, some with a lot of lightning. These look wet, not electrical.
Hanging out in Pawleys Island, SC this week with a lot of family- 4 houses full! Several storm chasers in the group, so we’ll have our weather eyes peeled. Highs in the 90’s, muggy, sandy and salty.
The Pawleys pier was truncated by hurricane Ivan, which made a direct hit on Georgetown, a few miles south of here. There is still video on Facebook showing the end collapsing and floating away.
Looks great down there!
Good morning! 71° and low humidity in Winston-Salem after torrential downpours yesterday.
71° and rainy this Monday morning in Winston-Salem. Multiple areas of North Carolina have mandatory water restrictions due to the ongoing drought.
80° and muggy in Winston-Salem this morning. Despite the storms that have rolled through, we are in the voluntary water conservation stage of extreme drought.
Finally had another good rain in Winston-Salem yesterday- unfortunately lost power again. Power back on this afternoon in time for another storm, but we weathered that one!
77° this morning in Winston-Salem with hope that we don’t hit 100 for the fourth day in a row- also hope for much needed rain. We’re parched down here!
A toasty 81° in Winston-Salem this morning. We’ll get to 100+ for the third day today, so I’ll be watching even more soccer indoors. Happy Friday to all!
81° to start the day in Winston-Salem. We hit 100 yesterday and are headed there and beyond today. Stay cool, y’all!
78° this Tuesday morning in Winston-Salem, where we say goodbye to the German futball team. They may have lost their match, but they win by getting out of town before the 100s hit- especially with the humidity.
Just regained power after losing it in the storms that rocketed through the NC Piedmont yesterday evening. Lots of trees down in Forsyth County- 55 mph gust measured at PTi airport in Greensboro. Heavy rain again this morning, now cooler and dry.
Good morning! 66° in Winston-Salem with a high in the 70s today- a nice respite from the heat and humidity. Drought is still a major issue here, so we’re hoping that tropical feature in the gulf comes over us with much needed rain.
