“Breaking Down the Madness in Every Storm.”
Joel- Sussex county De.
All of Delmarva under blizzard warnings, never saw this before nor a blizzard warning prior to storms start, they have issued them as it intensified but not in advance at least in me 40 years here.
Been the coldest winter I recall in this area since 86′ Now probably the snowiest too!
I believe the main reason for this is that in 2017 they did away with Blizzard Watches, for some bizarre simplification reason. Prior to 2017, the Delmarva and Long Island (where I live) would be under Blizzard Watches, not Warnings.
That makes sense, I didn’t know that.
Unfortunately, I probably won’t make Weather and a beer tonight, I have a family dinner. I’d love to be there, if possible, though.
Local guys still trying to grapple with snow amounts here, Blizzard warnings are up in Delaware, NOAA calling for 8-14 inches here with winds to 55 in gusts, if this really occurs it’s going to be a wild ride. Getting extra fuel for the generator today just in case.
Blizzard warnings up here!
Winter Storm Watch up for Delaware.
Joel your just wringing you hands….hope it goes for ya!
Me too!
Consistency and the GFS, they don’t mix well, plus I have seen ridiculous snow amounts for here on a run or two a couple three times this winter but not three days in a row. It’s like we are in the twilight zone. Let’s see what tomorrow brings, with all the models.
I have to say the GFS is consistent, 18 Z holds onto 30 inches here on the Delmarva and parts and the DC area. Biggest bust ever or its greatest coup??
This far out that always means a dusting or rain. Lol
I really hope this comes true even if it’s half the current amounts, I just have this feeling the Euro is on to something and the rugs going to get pulled out from under us in a day or so. Fingers crossed I’m wrong though.
Good morning, balmy 39 here with rain moving in later. I have to admit I have been thinking that when push comes to shove this weekend’s storm is mostly rain on Delmarva but the models do have my attention. Not yet ready to raid the grocery stores but something to watch. Local guys are still on the rain train. we shall see.
Got to the upper 50’s here today.
Good morning, we all know you can’t look at a snow map off a model for 5-6 days out and it verify, how many times this year have they showed a block buster only to wind up an inch or two or rain? Also, I’ve said it before, when’s the last time the position and strength of a storm ever wound up where it appeared 5 days out? My daughter asked me if…Read More
Good morning, 36 degrees, al snow chances here over night have evaporated, looking like 1″ plus of rain though.
We shall see, if not I do agree more cold is coming so not giving up on more snow yet.
I dread the Heat and humidity, hate it.
I feel like whenever the SOI values go toward a La Nina you start to see the models trending cooler. Anyone else notice that or is it just me?
Same here in eastern PA at 48 degrees. 2-3 inches of ice on top of the snow pack seems to be insulating it.
Most of mine is gone, but it took a while even on the side of the street it warmed up but it wasn’t melting.
Good morning, 23This morning. Local mets calling for it to go overt to snow Sunday night.
not saying much of an accumulation but still, ill take it.
That’s so true!
28 here this morning, looks like up near 60 a few days next week. I doubt winters over yet, in this area there’s been many years that our only snow came in March, two years in a row near Saint Patrick’s Day we had big storms. Of course, it’s not as exciting as you know it can only last a few days that time of the year.
Good morning, 34 degrees, 2 days above freezing.
Good morning, currently 41 degrees, got to 48 about 3:00am. feels like a heat wave.
Got 46 here today, not supposed to go below freezing tonight for the first time in forever.
