Do you think the colder forecast for eastern Canada has anything to do with expected ‘Strat’ warming event that is expected/forecast in January? Perhaps that event might help explain the colder temps in Canada by February given the delayed reaction after a strat warming.

Perhaps a final note on Idalia – NWS ILM determined there were 4 tornadoes on the ground associated with landfall. 2 were F0 and 2 were F1. No real damage, but we were under tornado warning for several hours. Tornadoes were radar indicated but have been proved otherwise.
Seeing news that the rains in Nevada have disrupted the Burning Man festival. Roads in and out are closed from mud. Porta potties can’t get serviced! 1000’s are trapped until conditions improve.

talked to my brother who lives in Leland.. said the flooding was terrible.. has never seen it that bad where he is
I too live in Leland. It got pretty deep in a few streets and had to turn back. Better now in some places.
