• Last year it was all the snow models that kept showing snow all over the country. That never happened so how reliable can these models be?

  • Latest GFS long range model shows a big hurricane coming north in to the gulf and then into the big bend section of Florida and then up the east coast with a possible storm hitting Florida before this one shows up. Man, I hope the model is not correct or Florida will be hit with its 4th hurricane this year. Henry? Thoughts?

  • Milton may intensify to below 900MB. That puts it close to the strongest ever in the 880 range. Wow

  • I sure hope Henry is right since the winter overall for the nation has been far below normal for snowfall and very warm in large parts of the nation.

We got 10 inches of Sierra Cement on Sat. 8-9 hours of heavy snow with temps around freezing after a lot of rain. Some areas near us exceeded a foot. That as a big surprise to everyone. Storms…Read More

  • Big storm coming into the Rockies will end up being too warm for the big front range urban corridor snowstorm. Major upslope. Foothills get dumped on in storms like this. Wet heavy snow but Denver and Boulder will get more rain than snow. Wet snow will hit on Sat night but by that time it may be too late to get to the 6-12 inches Henry is…Read More

  • Nice dump of snow for Pa, NY and north. Next storm will bring warm air, winds and heavy rain on top of a fresh wet snowpack. If it all melts in 24 hours and the rains materialize at 2-4 inches then significant flooding will be a huge story in PA, NJ and NY. The streams and rivers just came down from the last rainstorm. This time you have saturated…Read More

  • Latest discussions in Pa are starting to report that the amounts may go way down if the storm remains weaker and the trough stays positive. That would suggest a more east to west movement. Low intensity 999 is not very strong at least that is what the models are predicting. Still 3 days away. Might see a change but having lived most of my life in…Read More

    • 6PM local news in SE PA shows the rain-snow line across I-95 all the way through CT Now forecasting only 1-3 in Phila before changeover, but more the further NW of the city. Storm is supposed to be weaker and faster moving. Second storm will be all rain with temps rising to 50 on Tuesday, which will quickly wash away anything that falls.

  • I hope the Euro is correct. Almost all weather services rely on the GFS.

  • 12z of the GFS shows a split and weakening storm in the East on Sat/Sun. Do we buy it? Now showing on several runs. Same white the Sun Mon storm in the Rockies. Split storm until Kansas. Then a strong storm headed for the Lakes. Flooding in the east will depend upon the snow pack from the first storm.

  • Well, I hope you are right at some point Henry. It may take until late Jan and Feb for any real winter weather to occur. The wild winter in the east that was forecasted. I hope it happens. At some point it almost has to just based upon history. Eventually we have to get some cold and snow across the eastern half of the US. Maybe a storm will hit…Read More

  • The models have been showing snow all over the country for months. I can go back to Oct when you were showing these model runs predicting a massive snowpack nationally. Without this current storm mostly on Neb, Kan South and North Dakota, the total snowpack would be less than 10%. Hell there is no ice in Minn and Wisconsin for ice fishing. Now…Read More

  • There has to be more going on than just the PNA, NO and other values that are driving the weather pattern. They have all been in a great position for cold and snow and that is what Henry has banked on since late Sept. He was banking on snow and cold and a wild winter starting in Nov and then Dec and now some time in Jan. But the CPC forecast is…Read More

    • if we get NO snow in the month of January I think it may be safe to call this winter a big nothing burger…just saying

    • A weak El Niño is a death kiss to a winter on the east coast because of what it’s doing right now it’s sending warm and a ridge up he coast and everything that comes is rain…Simply put the SOI needs to drop seriously negative and stay negative for our winter to even have a chance if not….we might as well be in a La Niña and we all know what t…Read More

  • At least we I got some conversation going. Lol. I am a snow lover. I hope the pattern kicks in, better far late than never. Maybe Jan and Feb will be much colder and tons of snow.

  • Weather forecasting, short and longer term is very difficult and maybe impossible.

The actual weather has been significantly different than what had been discussed on the videos starting in late Sept when wild, cold and snowy weather would kick in around Halloween, perhaps even a Halloween snowstorm and last through most of the winter with…Read More

    • You’re correct..weather forecasting both short and long-term is virtually impossible.. Yet the clowns running this country at this point want us to believe the world is coming to an end if we don’t cover our oceans with windmills and drive electric cars..what a sham is being shoved down our throats at the cost of everyone and will accomplish…Read More

  • Henry made the call on Monday that we would see upslope snow associated with a cold front for Friday. He predicted 1-4 inches. The bands of snow were impressive. 6-9 inches fell near Boulder. Nice work Henry.

  • I know Henry is calling for Front Range upslope snow due to essentially backdoor cold fronts, but I highly doubt the systems will be as active as he is showing….lived here too long to believe that these two tiny systems will be active enough to produce more than some clouds, virga and maybe a little light snow in a few slots….

  • Very cold artic air along the front range in Colorado. Snowfall has tapered off. Area around Boulder picked up 8-12 inches. Bitter cold coming tonight, -5. But its great to live in Colorado…40’s by the weekend and 50’s next week with sunshine.
