Nashville area…mid 70’s. Had to turn in the AC as its horribly humid, also!
6 is exceptionally low for the Nashville area..we are supposed to reach mid 30’s today and tomorrow before deep freeze city hits us again over the weekend. Today has been designated “clean off the cars day.”
I guess I need to put off planting my tomatoes for a few days.
Geez I seen some pics of Mississippi what a disaster. Hopefully you make out well and be safe.
Interesting and flexible set up for SE and south central US coming up this weekend!
Suburban Nashville (Spring Hill/Maury County): cold line has passed…temp below 32..inches of ice and changeover to sleet. When the winds pick up, it will cause additional massive power outages as ice laden trees snap. The positive: precipitation will be over soon!
Suburban Nashville: temp went above 32! Now for the refreeze tonight!
31.5 in suburban Nashville with freezing rain pouring down. At least an inch+ of ice on everything. I’ve not experienced an ice storm this bad. Power outages widespread but our power, fortunately, is underground so OK so far. Saving grace is that precipitation will be fine by noon but then here comes the bitter cold!
Suburban Nashville: Heavy snow falling at 10:30 am. About an inch..awaiting the changeover to sleet and freezing rain this afternoon. Casting a spell to keep warm nose south to, lessen freezing rain.
Tennessee is ready…everyone will be able to eat for the next three months from their hoarded stores of 56 gallons of milk, 36 loaves of bread and several kegs of beer!
Pea soup fog in Nashville area this AM. Preparing for a major ice event over the weekend, as all models seem to have synced for that. Excited…NOT!
Tennesseans are like dogs salivating after hearing Pavlov’s bell!
9.1 in suburban Nashville this AM…very, very unusual for this area!
So, let’s see…
Snow suit or speedo?
Might Tennessee be entering the candy store instead of just longingly looking through the window. Although I’m a Vegas kid, not putting my money on it yet.
And in Tennessee, we are the kids longingly looking through the candy store window!
Temp 71; dew point 62; full or partial sun 75% of day. Nashville Worst Weather Service say no instability; atmosphere washed by storms that were done by 8am……what am I missing here ? Would expect severe weather based on dynamics of incoming front.
65 and 1.02 of rain so far this AM and it’s still pouring. Expecting 2-3” before it ends tomorrow….more like late spring instead of the dead of winter……..Spring hill, TN (suburban Nashville.
Happy Christmas to all…basking in 73 degrees today in suburban Nashville….played several rounds of outdoor games and got sunburned even through the clouds. 70’s isn’t Christmas to me!
Balmy 58 in Nashville area today; 0 wind chill by 6 am Sunday; then 60:and rainy by Wednesday/thursday. Definition of schizophrenic weather pattern.
Looks like the core of the cold is not going to penetrate the mid south as had been advertised for days on end. Nashville will return to the 50’s for the holidays……or so the crystal ball seems to think.
Aren’t you caving in with one model run that is for 2 weeks away?
Flew JFK to Paris last night. 5.5 hours…speed varied between 675-698, so a 100+ mph tailwind. So bumpy that crew had to stay strapped in for most of the flight and no AM service. I’ve flown 1. 5 MM and that was one of the wildest I can remember!
