A low of 4 degrees west of Harrisonburg Virginia.
It’s 8 degrees in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia near Harrisonburg. Hopefully get above 32 degrees tomorrow for the first time in a week. Thankful that the winter storm stayed south of us this time.
More storms are okay if we get a couple of 45 degree days in between so that the snow can melt and slide off the rooves. It happens about every 15 to 20 years when we get a big storm and it collapses houses. I just didn’t realize how heavy the sleet was. I think the wind this afternoon hit some buildings that were maxed out on the weight and the…Read More
I hoping against snow this coming weekend. This has done a tremendous amount of damage in this area. We have over 15 poultry house collapsed because of the sleet. The cold is preventing it from melting and sliding off. If it snows again this coming weekend it will really compound the problems.
That’s awful!
Sorry for your problems but you know it is only Jan 26, and we have lots more potential storms to go through.

Two December snow storms. What’s the rest of the winter going to be like?
I’m getting a good start on winter. I enjoyed an 11.3 inch snowstorm in Iowa last Friday night and all day on Saturday. Now in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia it is 27.3 degrees, still snowing and 2.5 inches on the ground. That’s a good start for the winter.
It’s snowing hard in New Hampton Iowa 23 degrees and about four inches on the ground.
Good morning from New Hampton Iowa. The temperature is 14 degrees and winter storm warning for 8-11 inches of snow.
Brrr
In Iowa for the weekend. Hope the forecast is correct and we get snow tomorrow night and Saturday.
We had a lovely .4 inch of rain. Didn’t see any snowflakes. Henry I usually cheer on snow maps like you posted yesterday for the 29th, but we are planning on being in Iowa from the 26 thru 30 and that predicted snowstorm would be kind of a problem. It’s ten days away so not really too concerned right now.
1.1 inches of rain at 7 A.M. this morning. We have had more since then, but not very much. That’s the weather report from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
29 degrees this morning in The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
