<title>Yesterday the high temp here was 108 deg, while at the airport it reached 113. The low here early this morning was 90. Another very warm day today in the deserts. But it&#039;s summer in the desert Southwest. It&#039;s hot in the summer, and while temperatures are a few degrees above average, they are not record breaking, yet the &quot;climate people&quot; keep howling how extremely hot it is. Oh well.</title>

<title>The heat dome continues to build in the deserts and will intensify by the weekend for Southern NV. The forecast for the weekend calls for up to 116 deg. by Sunday! Currently 95 deg at my location and 100 deg at the airport as of 09:30 PDT. So, as Henry pointed out, for the deserts, the story is heat and more heat.</title>

<title>After 124 days without measurable rainfall, the Las Vegas Valley is getting light to moderate rain showers this morning. The sun will return this afternoon with temperatures in the upper 90s. It is currently 85 deg. with light rain at my location as of 09:00 PDT. It appears the monsoon moisture is getting underway at this point.</title>

<title>We are entering our full summer weather mode in Southern Nevada as temperatures each day are 100+ degrees, and low temps in the upper 70s to low 80s. My max temperature here reached 101 for the first time this year, while down at the airport it was 106.

Dry conditions are forecast to prevail for the remainder of the month as it stands now. While AZ and NM start to see monsoon storms beginning by late June, we don&#039;t typically see any appreciable rainfall until late in the summer, usually late July into August.</title>

<title>We have had some really pleasant, sunny weather in the Las Vegas Valley of late with our high temperatures generally in the mid to upper 80s and cool nights in the mid 60s for the most part. There have also been gusty winds just about every day developing in the afternoons with gusts upward of 30 to 35 mph just about every day. But, by next week, some truly summer temperatures will be developing with high temperatures rising to 100+ degrees. This does not seem unusual for the start of June going forward. No precipitation is in sight at this point.</title>

<title>Weather in the Las Vegas Valley has been much cooler over the past several days, but windy just about each day. Our high temps have been in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s the past couple of days. It is a nice change compared to our taste of summer a couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday, there were scattered showers in the area, but nothing fell at my location. The northern Sierra Nevada Mountains received a good snowfall from the latest Pacific storm, which was much welcome as it will help with spring melt water.</title>

<title>From the Las Vegas Review Journal. More heat records in store.

Stuck in the 90s: Las Vegas to endure more record-breaking heat - LV Review Journal

By Mark Davis
Las Vegas Review-Journal

Breaking heat records has turned into a broken record in Las Vegas. Cue the music: the valley should see another day of historic March heat today.
The forecast high for Wednesday is 96 degrees, which would break the daily daytime high record of 90, set in 2022. It would be the eighth consecutive day of record-breaking heat in the valley.
Fortunately, a little bit of relief is on the way. Daytime highs are forecast to be in the low 90s for Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service said.
However, more records are expected to be broken. The average high for the valley in late March is in the low-to-mid 70s.
Las Vegas may not see temperatures in the upper 80s until Sunday or Monday. By the end of this month, the valley likely will have recorded at least 10 90-degree days, an all-time record.
Blistering temperatures associated with a heat dome, a rare event in March, continue to break records across the Southwest.</title>

<title>It is looking more and more like we may set a record for the earliest 100 deg. day for Las Vegas.

From the Las Vegas Review Journal;

The upcoming heat wave that will pick up Tuesday is expected to bring temperatures that could surpass 100 degrees, an unprecedented high that is months ahead of schedule. The average daytime high for the valley in mid-March is in the low 70s, while the earliest 100-degree day of the year reached in Las Vegas was May 1 in 1947...
An extreme heat watch takes effect Thursday morning when Las Vegas could see a historic first 100-degree day in March. Friday is expected to be even hotter.</title>

<title>While the Midwest is about to get a late season blizzard, we have an excessive heat watch starting Thursday where we could reach 100 deg. If this high verifies, it will be the earliest 100 deg day on record for the Las Vegas area.

Today is cooler than yesterday, but the trend will be a rapid warm up from here. Looking at the longer range, temperatures are expected to be well above average as a heat dome builds in the Southwest. It is starting to look like it may be a long hot summer this year for the Southwest.</title>

<title>Yesterday was a rather cold, rainy and windy day across the Las Vegas Valley with valley temperatures not getting out of the low to mid-40s. Strong wind gusts were evident most of the day as well but began to relax by later in the evening. I also read that communities to the northwest near the foot of the mountains received a brief dusting of snow early in the day as they are at higher elevation relative to the valley floor.

Today is much improved with only light winds and sunny skies, but still below average temperature. Our high today is expected to only be in the low 50s while the average high is around 64 deg.

Rainfall for the valley amounted to about 0.2 inch at most locations with higher amounts to the north and northwest. The next few days look like relatively quiet weather for Southern Nevada.</title>

<title>Yesterday and today we have had mostly cloudy skies in Southern NV with seasonable temperatures; high temps in the low 60s and lows in the lower 40s and in some rural areas, the mid to upper 30s. The moisture coming through now will be the making of more storms east of the Rockies. On my mid-day walk, I notices quite a bit of virga at the base of the cloud layer. No precipitation is expected to impact the Las Vegas Valley in the coming days.</title>

<title>The new year came in as a rather wet one this year with rain arriving New Years Eve, and more showers on New Years Day. We received 0.32 inches of rain, surpassing 1943’s total of 0.21 inches. The annual rainfall for 2025 was 5.41 inches — 1.23 inches above average. New Years Day was quite cool here as well with temperatures at most locations not getting out of the mid to upper 40s due to a thick cloud deck. There was plenty of very low overcast which caused significant delays at the airport as well. Today, Jan. 2, we still have plenty of scattered low clouds, but warmer than yesterday. More showers could be in store for Southern NV over the weekend.</title>

<title>Weather in the Las Vegas Valley was unsettled over the Christmas holiday period with showers on Christmas Eve, then sunny and cool on Christmas day. Christmas night, more light showers passed through from what was left of the last large Pacific storm.

Now it is looking like we might have a wet New Years Eve and showers on New Years Day from this next large Pacific storm coming in. That may well literally put the damper on the big fireworks display that happens here every year.</title>

<title>Happy Thanksgiving to all of you Weather Madness folks. Currently 61 deg in the Las Vegas Valley area and calm winds. Expected high should be in the upper 60s. I hope to get a good walk in before I head down to my grand niece&#039;s for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone have a good holiday.</title>

<title>After a string of wet weather last week, sunny and dry weather has returned to the Las Vegas Valley area with mild temperatures. We could be close to 70 deg on Thanksgiving and into the weekend. Low temps have been in the upper 40s for the most part. The last of the Pacific storms that passed through left a good covering of snow on the mountains, but as temperatures have warmed up, most of that is gone, except for the highest mountains such as Mount Charleston.</title>

<title>More rain showers moved through the Las Vegas Valley early this morning, and now it is mostly cloudy with a temperature of about 50 deg. Last night it got down into the upper 40s. Last evening, the clouds lifted enough to reveal fresh snow on the ridge tops of the Spring Mountains. It is possible more rain could fall later this week as well.</title>
