Flash flooding in portions of the Piedmont of North Carolina this evening, including areas hit by Chantal.
Massive flooding in North Carolina- Burlington, Chapel Hill. Reports of residents trapped in apartments in Chapel Hill in water up to their necks. Multiple reports of dams failing. Chantal is causing a lot of damage.
Those little pop up storms can be dangerous- 18 people were struck by lightning at Lake Murray in South Carolina from a storm that was barely a blip on the radar. Non life-threatening injuries.
Lots of trees down in Winston-Salem, NC after the line of storms came through. Power outages affecting 4-5 thousand customers.
