The past couple of days have been unsettled across Southern NV with scattered thunderstorms and thundershowers developing each afternoon. The night before last, we had a brief heavy thundershower here at my location. More of the same is in store for this afternoon as well. The temperature at 13:00 PDT is 87 with a dew pt of 49.
Cooler temperatures have prevailed across the Las Vegas Valley starting yesterday. Sunday was overcast for most of the day, but no precipitation in the valley. Early this morning, there were a few sprinkles, but by late morning, the sky started clearing and is currently partly cloudy and breezy with a temperature of 83 as of 12:00 PDT.
I had a high temp of 99 deg. at my location while the airport has observed 106. Currently 98 deg at 16:30 PDT. It looks like another rather warm night with lows in the low to mid 80s in most locations in the Las Vegas Valley. Some high clouds have been present, but otherwise very sunny and clear.
It was a warm night in the Las Vegas Valley last night. I had a low here of 82 deg., and currently at 10:10 PDT it is already 94 deg. The forecast high is 106 which seems to agree also with the HRRR. With the passage of a front, it should cool back down into the low to mid 90s after tomorrow.
The pre-summer heat has arrived in the Las Valley. Currently, it is 95 deg at my location as of 12:30 PDT. But, the high today is expected to be around 101 deg. today. More seasonal temps are expected by Sunday.
It looks like the heat will be building across southern NV over the next several days. We are on track to breach 100+ degrees by later this week. Summer is on the door step for much of the Southwest after a relatively mild spring.
We have not yet hit the 100 deg.mark at my location in the west Las Vegas Valley, but temps are trending in the low to mid 90s now each day. The air mass is very dry current;u with a dew point of only 11 deg. Thus, even with the 90+ temps, the low humidity makes it feel more like the mid 80s or so. I do hope you folks in the Northeast get some…Read More
We have had a string of relatively mild weather in the Las Vegas area the past several days, except for the gusty winds from time to time. Yesterday, winds gusted into the 40+mph range with overcast skies. Henry mentioned a storm report for wind near Las Vegas, but those storms were in the mountains west of here and not over the Las Vegas Valley.…Read More
Scattered showers continue over the Las Vegas Valley and much of the Southwest today. We are getting moderate rain at my location as of 15:15 PDT with a temperature of 62 deg. The upper low is spinning over AZ now and heading northeast out of the area. By Thursday, temperatures will be up into the low 90s and remain warm until the weekend. So far,…Read More
The upper level low has produced showery weather over much of the Southwest since last night. Our temperatures here have been in the low to mid 60s much of the day. More showers are expected over the Las Vegas Valley tomorrow before the low moves out. After that, we will see a rapid warm up by mid-week with temps getting into the upper 80s.

The heavy rain with the coastal storm.
Wet snow later today and tonight over the higher elevations of the Northeast.
Coastal develops today and brings heavy rains to the Mid-Atlantic.
Excellent.. We need it
We need the rain also in NJ.
Happy Weather Friday! One of the coldest and rainy days in April in a long day yesterday. Never got out of the 30s.
If you don’t believe me, see for yourself what the wind did to my dog…
Awe what a cutie 😊
Damn Henry now that’s some wind lol!!
I’m thinking more like lightning strike!
Record windiest month across the country. I can tell you, most of the hair on my dog has been blown out.
I believe that. We have had several high wind events in Southern NV this year.
Yup… running a rural snowplow business in northern VT. I was chasing a lot of snow drifts in the beginning of March. Been quite a few years that we had that. Was more in the first half of the month.
40 degrees with sleet and snow this morning.
Happy Weather Thursday! Snow across parts of the high country in the Northeast tomorrow.
The Southwest is getting another pre-summer warm up again with 90+ temps expected this week before a cool down by early next week to seasonable values.
Northwest flow severe weather outbreak across the Tennessee Valley tomorrow afternoon. Hail and damaging winds the main impacts.
