Fellow Weather Enthusiasts The movie PRESSURE is a must watch. It’s the true story of the forecasters working directly for General Eisenhower attempting to predict the weather 72 hours before D-DAY. The two lead forecasters with differing theories on forecasting is almost like watching Bastardi vs Henry; that is relying ONLY on past weather patterns (analogs) to predict the near future vs using real time weather to make a forecast. Yes..saw it already..great movie!!
P.S. I am NOT knocking analogs for forecasts. They are useful for long range forecasting. I believe Henry, Bastardi and others are studying the winters following ‘super’ El Nino summers to come up with winter forecasts.
