Well that was a fun evening of thunderstorms and heavy rain yesterday in NY! It was constant thunder/lightning. No winds thankfully. Loving this el nino summer.
I’m actually really liking this cool and unsettled pattern for summer in the NE.😎 Herb and I are getting our thunderstorms!
Wondering how tomorrow’s rain event will compare to the previous one… I don’t like seeing that red circle over my house 🫣
Just had a couple tornados go by my house in NY around 11am according to radar on my app. Didn’t get eyes on them unfortunately.
The big rain event brought 7.3 inches of rain. ☔️

I read that nyc hasn’t been this hot since 2012… I remember that summer (bought my first AC!) and also that little hurricane called Sandy that came in Oct. It was a neutral summer I believe (moving from La Niña to an El Niño that didn’t materialize). Wondering if there are any parallels for us this year in light of what Henry said about stormy Aug/Sept…
1.58” of rain yesterday at my house in NY yesterday! Grass needed it. No thunderstorms though.
Finally! This is the NE weather I’ve missed… overcast and warm with that thick humid air 😌 With storms rolling in and the barometer falling. We didn’t get to have this in the pacific NW.
Can’t believe it finally rained down here lol..I watched that beautiful line coming right at us and thought for sure it would break up as always but it thankfully didnt. We need a lot more

Which name do you think we get to this hurricane season? Henry’s algorithms are still in winter but I’m thinking of warmer days 🙂 I’ll go with Nana.

Yes just looked this up and it said, “At 10:17 a.m. today, March 10, a 2.3‑magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in Sleepy Hollow was felt in parts of Westchester County. At this time, the county’s Department of Emergency Services has not received any reports of operational impacts or damage to infrastructure,”

Actual weather madness out there! I measured 18” here in Westchester County but hard to truly tell bc blowing snow. My windows are covered and the wind is howling.
