This week will start with a snowstorm in the Plains that will move east and produce snow showers across the Ohio Valley into the central Appalachians. The heaviest snows will be in the Plains where 4-8 inches will accumulate Monday into Monday night. The snow showers coming into the Ohio Valley will only bring a coating to an inch of snow.

Snow will also fall through the Northwest mountains early this week. Some of the valley locations could have ice.

Cold will spread south through the Plains and Great Lakes this week which will be the start of a colder pattern coming for early January.
